Nonprofits face many issues. How do we retain volunteers? How do we keep volunteers coming back? Is motivation the only factor? It is important to maintain engagement and a sense of purpose with volunteers. To create satisfaction we have to understand motivation, and when we understand motivation, we need to apply motivation. In this session, we will dive into four key characteristics of motivation known as the VASE system, values, achievement, social and enhancement, and how Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) can be used to motivate and retain volunteers.
